Custom Object Commentator for Zendesk
The Custom Object Commentator app allows you to add a custom object lookup field's data and related lookup object data to Zendesk ticket comments. This sidebar app enables agents to include object-related data linked to a custom lookup relationship field added to the ticket form as internal or public ticket comments. The app utilizes Custom Objects within Zendesk and therefore your account must have this feature enabled and this application will not work without it. All Zendesk Suite plans have access to Custom Objects but there are limitations based on the plan used. Please refer to this Zendesk product page for more information.

Installation steps:

Enable Custom Objects. Go to the Zendesk menu > Admin Center > Object and rules > Objects to activate and create objects.

Create all required objects. At the moment this app functionality only allows for one lookup relationship object field to be used as the object record source. Other objects can be used as related lookup fields within the primary object. See our example of creating a Field Service Tool for more detail.

Create a custom lookup relationship ticket field linked to the primary object.

Install the application. During installation, you will be asked to enter the custom lookup field ID and linked object key in the relevant fields presented during installation.
